[78-L] digital dilemma

Typically a step down cable is red at one end only. It would drop a line 
level to a mic level but it would not adjust EQ for RIAA. I hope you're 
not using RIAA for 78s.

In earlier versions of Win there were profiles, you could set up what 
hardware was enabled in a certain profile. No need to go into BIOS and 
the kill the thing entirely, unless you want to do that. Perhaps later 
versions have this feature somewhere?
