[78-L] removing 45 adapters

I acquired a few 45s lately with center adapters in them. I cannot 
figure out how to remove these things without risking damage to the 
record. Maybe I should leave them in? We discussed here some time ago 
that such adapters may cause the records to warp. True?

The adapter has two "long fingers" on each side, 45 degrees from the 
other side, so just pushing it straight thru doesn't seem like a good idea.

Other techniques?
