While we're (sort of) on the subject, what was the ultimate corporate fate of the smaller
American labels of the 1900s-1930s? Not all of them seem to have been absorbed into
ARC. Do we know who owns the Grey Gull, Lyric, Arto, Federal, Hit of the Week and
Crown catalogues?

Emerson, it seems, was purchased by the Scranton Button Company in 1924. Scranton
was acquired by Capitol in 1946, which put it in the EMI column from 1955 and now in
the Universal column.

Does George H. Buck still own the NYRL/Paramount masters?
