Mine is patterned after what Kurt Nauck had for 78's in the Montrose area shop
many years ago. It's 1x12 lumber in 6 foot lengths with staggared divider boards
avery 2 feet to help support the weight of those heavy records. Floor to ceiling
of course plus drilled & screwed together. Shelves just like that (some up
againt the walls & others free standing) hold all of my 78's, 45's, LP's & 16"
transcription discs The free standing ones have a backing board screwed in of
course......

Mine are made from 2x14 framing lumber, carefully selected, lightly sanded
and sealed with shellac, in 4ft lengths and ceiling tall. All drilled and
screwed together, no dividers. Totally NONportable, of course.  I advise the
use of some kinda backing, to avoid shoving records right through and onto
the floor (done too often, here)

ps - I made mine more or less randomly capable of holding 10, 12, and up to
16in discs, with 10inch the leader. Boxes of cylinders use up the extra
16inch spaces.
