Today the supermarket music is pretty much the same as the drugstore music and 
the doctor's office music. I've been surprised on occasion..heard a lot of 
Chuck Berry in one store over the years, heard songs like Agua de Marco (in a 
great version I didn't recognize) and Send In the Clowns (Judy Collins) in 
another.  And a couple of years ago I heard Nancy Sinatra's "Happy" on 3 
separate occasions, which was probably 2 times more than it ever got played on 
the radio.
