Okeh...what I MEANT was this! Lombardo (and later Garber) did use the style
from c. 1927 onward...but at that time it was different from the usual
dance-band
format. It didn't become "boring and constant" until around the late
thirties or
early forties (around the same time that Garber relentlessly copied it)...!
I happen to like Lombardo (and can sing in Carmen's style as well!).
