I have images in the range 30000-30914. All scroll, with Orthophonic in a curved line
above Nipper.
All Latin, like Cuarteto Machin (for ex on 30000, 30619). Text on labels in Spanish.
Some Grabado en Europa. Labels look black.
There is also a scroll 37000 Latin series, which is much rarer. I have only
4 images in range 37072-37673. Of these, 37658 is pres. a later pressing,
with double ring "Serie Internacional" label.
37673 is by Mercedes Simone / con Orquesta.

There is also a latin post-scroll black 38000 series.
A later pressing of RCA Vic 38629 looks dark blue and might be purple.
Maybe repressings in the 50s are on purple labels.

There is a common Argentine 37000 series, which seems to have the same issues
(confirmed for 37072 & 37246) and pres. is the orig. series.
Not known if everything was also issued in the US.
According to 'omar', the seller of (Ar) 37072, it was recd in 1931.
The Arg. 38000 series seems to be the continuation of the 37000 series and
is the source for the US 38000 series (in both, 38008 is by Francisco Lomuto).

Now I see that the US 30000 series is same as the Arg. 30000 series (confirmed
for 30409).
The Arg. series is rather rare, and prob. the US series is the original.
There are also Brazil 30000 & 37000 series
(only 30748 by Los Siboneyes & 37597 by Trio C. Ortiz seen).
For 30619 by Cuarteto Machin I have a rec. date of NY 29 Oct 1931.
Is this (or any others) in Spottswood?

I have never seen a US 20-series below 20-1500 (Berigan in Album P-134 on
double ring Victor).
Earliest available Arg. 20- issue is 20-1502 by Berigan (Jelly-Roll Blues) in
Arg. album A-28 (side 3).
Actually the US issue is also 20-1502 but now it is side 5 in P-134.

The RCA Victor Request Catalog (1951) has a price list at the back and it lists
a couple of numbering series I've never seen before..30000 and up (ten-inch
purple label) and 37000 and up (10 inch purple label). Qu'est'ce que c'est?
Also, it lists the post 1942 ten-inch popular black label series as "20-1400
and up". Thought it started at 20-1500. Did they go back and use some lower
numbers for a special series at one point?
