According to Kinkle, Ray Heatherton was born around 1911 +-.  He was a graduate of Hempstead High School, LI, NY.  In the '40s, when I was in the HS choir, he sang with us in some piece of music calling for singer-narrator and chorus.  He became the Merry Mailman on NYC TV in the '50s.
