I've found that another good way to store or transport them is through paper ream boxes sold by office supply stores. These have well-fitting lids, but if you put the lids underneath the box instead of on top, they give the box more reinforcement. I can tote around these with 78s or 10-inch LPs in them without the records breaking through the boxes.
