Buddy Catlett still lives in Seattle and still plays bass on occasion.  He 
was with the Armstrong All Stars for several years,  too.  My dad took me to 
see Louie when Buddy was playing with him...also Buster Bailey,  Tyree 
Glenn,  Billy Kyle and a drummer I've never heard of before or since,  Danny 
Barcelona.  I think that was 1966.

The LHR version of Little Pony is for sure based on Wardell G's solo on the 
Basie Columbia record.

I've a feeling that the title was dedicated to Wardell Gray, who soloed
on the first Basie version. Seems the guy was more famous for being a
legend than for his achievements.
