This remark brings to mind another ego-governed person who comes across in his writing as being, like Gene Lees today, without a life, as in "78's on the Black Kettle label probably don't exist, as I'VE never seen one". Perhaps it would be better if we were all willing to declare publicly the impression we have of others while they're still living; it might help to ease those moments when even 78-L is insufficient for one's needs.
