ASFIK, the Spotlite album is pretty much the same as the Alamac. There are
only a handful of really well-recorded Eckstine broadcasts that really show
what the band could do. It also appeared in a film primarily for black
audiences, and at least two songs were from this film were also released as
Soundies. I once had them on some VHS tape. As all of us know, Soundies are
all over the place as far as video; it would be great if Leonard Maltin
reissued his four-volume set of Soundies that was released on VHS. He told
me that he had to really search for Soundies in good condition.
