They say of the Earl of Condom (in Condom-en-Armagnac) that he had an enormous
demand for this device made of porc intestins, so that the name stuck on the device.
Way back in the 16th or 17th century.
At least, this is what the 'Musée du préservatif' in the town of Condom says.
