[78-L] e-bay nonsense

e-wotsit was originally conceived as a method for ordinary folks to offer
their ordinay odds & ends for sale...something which had NEVER existed
prior thereto! Sadly, it ran head-on into the "I HAVE TO GET *RICH*"
concept...so that total screaming idiots could offer jun...er, 
"collectibles"
to sucke...er, buyers!

Why, as I type, one could acquire a VERY rare "Beanie Baby" (TM REG)
which has a PUCE tag, rather than the usual MAUVE...and then, having
bought the dommed thing, SOLD it for gazillions of dollars on the same
list!!

The problem is this...as 1959 disappears into "the past," 78rpm phonorecords
(which disappeared, even in Canada, by that year...?!) are seen as 
"collectibles"
by folks who are trying to collect MONEY (and power?!), and thus become
somehow superior to those hapless parties without either thereof?!
