The late Jeff Healey used to sort his 78's by artist (ignoring the fact that
many twenties 78's paired two different bands/artists...?!) and
chronological
order of recording! This only worked because he had an INCREDIBLE
memory...and could thus find ANY 78 he owned!!

I'm currently going through my half-vast shellac archive one milk box at a
time, entering label/number in a MS Access database; one hopes I will
eventually know (unless I drop over stone cold daid...?!) exactly which
phonorecords I actually OWN?!

I will also have any number of "duplicates"...of which I shall have to
dispose advantageously...?! As well, I have two n8-2d needles on
order (2-mil diamond tips)...getting these will allow me to plug the
cartridge leads of my old record player into the "Line In" jack of
my sound card...thusly digitizing my shellac holdings, one hopes...?!
