Worry no more, that never was the case. The National Association of
Broadcasters used to have a "Code of Good Practice" that in the
mid-1950s added a clause prohibiting actual drinking of alcoholic
beverages in COMMERCIALS after reports of bad situations when
beer-sponsored ball games went into extra innings. It never affected
anything but commercials. You could lift the glass and put it down
empty, but could not be shown drinking it. And it never was a law or an
FCC rule, only a part of the NAB Code. Because of lawsuits on other
matters, the Code is no longer in effect, and the NAB will not even send
you a copy of it like they used to in order to avoid being accused of
still promoting it.
So, drink away!!!!!!!
