[78-L] Belting an Edison Phonograph

    I must have been lucky that day.  I ordered a kit, cut and pasted as 
they directed and it worked for at least ten years.  I finally sold the 
phonograph along with my Dalhart collection.      Jack

Count me in if you find the answer. I have a Standard B with a replaced belt 
doing the same thing. That's three of us - does that make it on topic yet?

No, no. I have the same problem. The cut & splice method of installing a
new belt did not work well for me either, and I got the same results you
did. If you figure it out please let me know, off list if necessary.
