[78-L] Belting an Edison Phonograph

Check the length of the run of the belt with a piece of string. Mark the 
new belt with the string laid on it. Leave enough belt for overlap, 
taper the ends. Check to ensure the final length is just a bit short, as 
it will stretch. Glue the belt together and allow to thoroughly dry. It 
must be a tad short to start with. Same goes when replacing a singer 
sewing machine belt, though the ends of those are held together with a 
staple (more or less).
