[78-L] OT: Race words.

Hi!

I was friends with the great Benny Carter for over 20 years and he 
once expressed his surprise at how worked up people got over the word 
'nigger'. He said, 'We used it between ourselves all the time'.

Of-course, that's the point...

'Between ourselves' it lacked its poison.

More recently, I was in the USA and was told not to use the word 'Jew'.
Why not? I asked (I'm Jewish myself, by the way), 'It's the correct word'.

Apparently, that has become a word of abuse too...

This is getting ridiculous.

If you can't use the correct word...what are you supposed to use...
'JewISH' isn't a noun! ;-)
