how to pack 78s so you must have opened the package too roughly"
I'll bet you WANTED them to be broken just to hassle the poor, innocent and
blameless French seller.
I may have shared this with the group before, but a few years ago I had a
really odd go-round with a seller on EBay name of "glassrecords" who took
issue with my complaint about his packing of a Clarence Williams Okeh which
arrived with a nice rim-to-center crack, having been packed in a very
casual manner.
Said exchange ended up with him lambasting me because I had not requested
the "deluxe" shipping option (first I'd heard of it) and that I was nothing
more than a "nickel-and-dime record pimp."
I never did figure out what he meant, but I had to give points for colorful
language...took some of the sting off of not recovering my fifty bucks.
