I am looking for biographical information for Edward J. (Joseph) Smith,
Eddie Smith legendary record producer.

 

Anyone have copies of the discographies of his record production EJS
Discography, More EJS ??  Do these

contain information about Smith ?  If so, can you provide a scan or summary

I am particularly looking for information about his marriage to contralto
Elizabeth Wysor.

At the NYC Manhattan marriage license bureau there is a document AFFIDAVIT
FOR LICENSE TO MARRY

but no marriage license.  The affidavit was witnessed by a clerk 14 Nov
1941, with information

that marriage was planned for early December.  Since pearl harbor occurred
perhaps the planned

marriage was postponed, and/or held elsewhere.  The 1950 census shows the
couple living at the

Ansonia Hotel, Wysor's address on the 1941 document.
