The Outreach Committee of the Association for Recorded Sound Collections
(ARSC) posts the following message.

--- 2020 ARSC AWARDS for EXCELLENCE ---

The Association for Recorded Sound Collections is pleased to announce the
winners of the 2020 ARSC Awards for Excellence in Historical Recorded Sound
Research.

Begun in 1991, the Awards for Excellence are presented to authors and
publishers of books, articles, or recording liner notes, to recognize
outstanding published research in the field of recorded sound. In giving
these awards, ARSC recognizes the contributions of these individuals,
encourages others to emulate their high standards, and hopes to promote
readership of their work.

A maximum of two awards is presented annually in each category -- one for
best history and one for best discography. Certificates of Merit are
presented to runners-up of exceptionally high quality.

The 2020 Awards for Excellence honor works published in 2019. View the list
of winners here:

The awards will be presented at a virtual ceremony during ARSC's 55th Annual
Conference, to be held online, May 13-15, 2021.

Congratulations to all winners! Thank you to the ARSC Awards Committee chair
and judges.
