In the early days of recording playing a gramophone/ phonograph record
was a topic in many songs. Robert Johnson's "Phonograph Blues", where
the "rusty needle" was used as a metaphor come to mind.
But there were also songs imitating the playing of a record.
Here are a few from the 78 rpm era:

Die zerbrochene Schallplatte - Max Hansen (1930)

The Broken Record - Jack Payne & His Orchestra (1936)

                  "                  - Wingy Manone (1936)

The Big Juleblues - Povel Ramel & Alice Babs (1952)

And a few from later years:

Je suis le disque - Sophie Darel (1961)

Gramophone Man - Spirit (1968)

The Gramophone  - Sam Jackson (2012)

I'm sure many of you can add to the list.

Kristjan
