[78-L] Hate songs directed to Axis leaders

I don't think anyone has mentioned the 1942 Keynote album by the Almanac Singers, "Dear Mr. President". Probably the only song the Almanacs ever got airtime with, "Round and Round Hitler's Grave" certainly fits into this category. Pete Seeger's talking blues, "Dear Mr. President", which is an indirect apology for their anti-war album "Songs for John Doe", also talks about doing in Hitler and Mussolini.

Also, the Golden Gate Quartet, Okeh 6712 "Stalin wasn't Stallin'", from May, 1943, (an interesting reminder that there was a time before the Cold War) which has the delightful refrain:
				    "Now Stalin wasn't stallin'
When he told the beast of Berlin,
				    That he'd never be contented
Till they'd driven him from the land.
The he called the Yanks and English
				    And proceeded to extinguish
				     The Führer and his vermin,
This is how is all began"

Cheers,

Probably every active band had a song during the war having either to do with victory, war bonds or derision of the enemy. Lou Breese was no exception.  "Seven Days A Week." "Work, you son of a gun, until we win this war!"

On transcription records I found, "Remember Pearl Harbor," "Keep 'em Flying" and one that was not directly attributable to the war, "Buckle Down Winsocki."

One transcription was completely war-related: We Must Be Vigilant, Just Plain Lonesome, Keep 'em Smiling, This Is Worth Fighting For and He Wears A Pair Of Silver Wings.
