Hello,

The staff at the Ellis Island National Museum of Immigration has been trying to locate repositories that contain German-American sound recordings from the early 1900s.  We are especially interested in recordings that speak to the German-American immigrant experience.  By German-American experience, we mean that the recording states something about being in this country, the language used contains English words and/or words derived from English, or the song represented to the immigrants some essence of the old country.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Eric Byron
Museum Division
