Rodger, I’ll be allowing the posting of sound files at 78-C. I think I’ve already copied over one or two. More are welcome.

With the Premium package we’ve got 10G of file space, so we might as well fill it with things.

(I wish I still had my comprehensive record label scan collection but I gave all of that to Rick Jorgensen for his 78 Record Label Web Site, which now seems to be defunct and lost my backup in a computer crash years ago)

I’ll probably archive off the Phonolist and 78RPM (long defunct) groups too and add their files next to my collection of the early 78-L Cornell.edu era messages from the 1990’s.

Data is for storing, preserving and sharing… not letting corporations delete off stuff whenever they feel like it.

Clarification – Old 78-C at Yahoo still exists (and will until December when Yahoo turns off the lights). Nothing has been deleted – I’ve just blocked off new membership and postings there and moved the entire membership over to the new group and it’s back to business as usual there.

>The great advantage of the Yahoo Groups over Facebook was the ability to post audio files. No longer.

>I can only hope the other owners/moderators can find a suitable replacement.
