[78-L] Oldtimers query

Another oldtimer here, joined in October 1997. Yet another of Brother Biel's
recruits, at least that's how I remember it. I've got thousands of 78-L
posts on an old computer up in the closet, but it's not a complete
collection, mostly just topics of specific interest. Oh, and all the weird
tangents and gag posts that used to go around, like the Thai slave girls and
the spammer who had definite ideas about what should be done with Bill
Clinton. It was a kinder, gentler time.
