A funny remake of "Mule Train" was made in 1950 by Swedish revue artists
Flickery Flies. It was called "Dollartaget" (Dollar train) and tells,
jokingly, the story of the train that Swedish Rail had introduced to
attract US tourists. It traveled from Stockholm to the pole circle and
offered a lot of folklore and, of course, the midnight sun. It had
luxury compartments, good food etc and was popular enough to last well
into the 1960's.
"Dollartaget" was released on the Swedish Sonora label, no 7540.
Flickery Flies was the brainchild of entertainer maestro Povel Ramel,
songwriter, singer, pianist, label boss, whose radio shows, records and
revues were an important part of Swedish show business for more than 60
years.
