Seems I answered my own question. There was, in somewhat chronological 
order,

Florence Foster Jenkins
Leona Anderson
Mrs. (Mitch) Miller
Jo Stafford (as Darlene Edwards)
Mme. St. Onge (from Ontario, Canada)

And they begat a recent (2005 et al) pop singer from New Zealand, Wing.
Anyone else?
