[78-L] OT Stereo placement

Funny, I was just wondering and about to ask somewhere..why is the music in my head NOT stereo? I can hear full orchestrations of records I haven't played in 50 years, I can hear symphonies and know where the side breaks would have been on 78, but inside here it's strictly monaural.
