Slightly off-track... In the UK there were such guys as Sidney Torch, who left the theatre organ for the batuta.... His renditions of Portrait of a Flirt, Isle Of Capri, and many others, are that lush sound so kind. But there is the unmistakable ‘british’ sound that makes this music so special. He also conducter the BBC orch, his own orch and the Queens Hall Light Orch. Many themes were Robert Farnon’s, also a good orchestra leader. Nice british music. I am in love with the BBC theme Music In The Air....
