perhaps he would be satisfied with a digital photo? Is he looking for 
proof that it was damaged?

Otherwise, does the original listing say anything about it having to be 
returned for a refund? If not, it would not seem to be part of the 
original agreement, and I don't see why you should have to eat it. If he 
complains I would take it to ebay.
