Exactly. He asked for it back as its his policy so he can know for sure that it was broken. So I suggested a picture would solve that problem very easily and would be happy to send one (I was traveling so couldn't at the time). He replied not necessary this time. When he sent the refund he is now saying I need to send the record back.
A picture will do...

My question would be...why does he want a broken record back? He sent you a refund, so clearly he believed you when you told him it was broken. Send him of a picture of it, and forget it....

I recently received a poorly packed ebay winning that came cracked through from
edge to spindle hole. It was clearly from the packing job and the seller
admitted to doing it quickly and it was his fault.
There was an offer to send another record in its place but that never happened
for whatever reason and I was sent a refund. But it came with a request to send
the record back - at my expense!
Has anyone ever been asked to do this? If he wants it back shouldn't he pay?
Seems odd to me for a regular seller.
Glenn
