Doug,

Thanks so much for addressing the tonearm weight location and sharing the
specifics of your experience along. I sometimes have reservations about
impacting how high quality components are designed to work so I was
inclined to ask more questions. What my concern was is that its modifying a
tone arm as opposed to using a tone arm designed heavier tone arm for an
application and wanted to dig a little deeper. In the mean time I also
found a reference in the technics manual for the EPA-500 that when using
the EPA-501H wand that to add weight beyond 1.75 grams it should be done
with shell weight and not with the counter weight. This seems to partially
reinforce this practice in a manufacturer manual about ways/cases to add
weight when using lighter tonearms (or wands) also. So many formats, so
much to learn, on and on and on.

I'll have to dig up the Feinstein episode. It's always nice to see/hear
some visibility for recorded sound preservation.

Thanks again,
Nathan
