[78-L] Tonearm/Cartridge Mismatch - Compliance Remedies?

Hi Nathan,

The video showing my turntable and arm is in one of Michael Feinstein's
Public TV programs (the one titled "On The Air") but it is very informal
and I was not asked to explain much of anything, definitely nothing about
why I put a coin on the cartridge to increase its weight.

You raise an interesting question about mass and moments of inertia
(I think), and I have no sophisticated answer for you. I long ago became
aware that increasing the tracking pressure by decreasing the weight at
the pivot end of the arm is not the same as adjusting for the same tracking
pressure by increasing the mass at the cartridge end, which improves
tracking noticeably.
