Eddie Calvert tried to follow upp his 1953 hit "Oh Mein Papa" with a
similar number, the (partially) self-penned "My Son My Son" in 1954.
A few years Tommie Connor & Johnny Reine wrote a follow-up to "Lili
Marlene": "The Wedding Of Lili Marlene". It was a big hit for Anne
Shelton in the UK and a minor hit for The Andrews Sisters in the US.
Does anyone know of other such obvious follow-ups, theme-based or
otherwise connected?
