[78-L] Late Whiteman [was Flanagan & Whiteman]

The new Vol 2 of Don Rayno's fantastic bio of Whiteman has a detailed
discography of all of the Grand Award records. Except for the 50th
Anniversary set, I had been avoiding all of these for years, but with
Tom Fine's mentioning of his father's role in Grand Award, I've been
picking them up. At the Jazz Bash I found all of whiiteman's GAs except
the last one, Cavalcade of Music. None of them are repackagings (except
the two flock-covered single discs from the 50th anniv set). Except for
that 50th Anniv set and Fiddle On Fire, they are in stereo. According
to Rayno, he DID conduct all of these. It turns out he was still very
active during those years doing a lot of concerts all over the country.

Mentioned in the text but missing from the discography is "Ain't She
Sweet" which is included in the GA's "Stereophonic Spectacular
Demonstration Record". He also did a (mono) 45 in 1957, GA 45-1013
accompanying Bob Eberly which does not show up in any album. Rayno does
not show GA 33-POP-6 or GA 33-POP-9, but he does includes the 1966
Longines Symphonette box "This Is My America" in the discography with
Whiteman as Guest Conductor, but does not mention it at all in the text.
To be fair, some of the GA albums are given only one sentence in the
text.
