Before "Night", somebody recorded it as "Go" in the early 50s. Tony Martin sang
O Sole Mio as "There's No Tomorrow", Elvis sang it as "It's Now or Never". Al
Jolson's "Avalon" was adapted from "E Lucevan le Stelle", and Puccini
apparently told his lawyer not to sue unless it was a hit. And the Crew Cuts
made an entire lp of classical adaptations.
