[78-L] DECCA UK was Facade

I have this information, fwiw:

Decca Record Company Ltd was floated with a
million shares in February 1929 to buy both the Duophone record factory and
the shares of the Decca Gramophone Company.

Duophone recorded STANLEY HOLLOWAY in September 1928.

Anyone have access to GRAMOPHONE ARCHIVE, there may be info there.....

When did Drecca UK start up?  Symposium reissue gives 28 Nov 1929 as rec
date and mxx MA 392-7A / 317-7A / 723-2A / 319-7A. Which seems a strange
sequence for a single day....  Are -7A and -2A take nos.?  I can see how those
tongue-twisters might have took some taking

Horrible. Boxy. We added a bit of discreet reverb for the Living Era Classics
issue a few years ago.
