[78-L] Remick Perfection Record

It is a Columbia with pasteover labels and Remick is well known enough
to have J2 thru J7 listed in the Columbia discograpy. They seem to be
from one time period, matrices 4167 to 4169 on the six discs in the
book, which had their Columbia releases between November 1909 and Jan
1910. There doesn't seem to be a pattern of selection of sides, but
perhaps these were all Remick songs, since Remick was a publisher.

I've seen these "Copyrighted Record Additional PRICE 4 cents" stickers
on regular Columbias, and this is a result of the new copyright law
which provided a royalty of a penny per song for the composer and for
the publisher, 2 cents per side. Columbia wasn't ready to absorb the
royalty themselves. Page 11 of the Sept 1909 issue of "The Columbia
Record" (be sure to order a set from Ryan Barna!!) explains that only
selections copyrighted after July 1, 1909 are covered, and says that if
both sides of the record are copyrighted they will have these red 4cent
stickers, but if only one side is copyrighted the sticker will be green
and state 2 cents. I can't recall seeing green stickers.

Perfection these records ain't, and this one ain't "Museum Quality"!

Not that I have the coin to buy this, but... Was this a Columbia
product? And what was it's thrust; does anyone know?
