[78-L] 1-mil stylus

I haven't seen this in the circular Stanton cartridge-stylus fitting
shaft, but in the Shure SC-35 they started making the square shaft
slightly smaller about ten years ago. This causes it to fit very
loosely in older cartridge bodies. I have a bunch of the bodies so I
have had to install one of the newer ones.

The entire mounting fitted loosely in the cartridge, not the stylus in
the
groove. And the output from this particular stylus has been louder and
hissier
than with any other elliptical. Oddly enough, there have been one or two
discs
that it played better than other styli did, and these were somewhat worn
Victor
Program Transcriptions. (This is an Expert re-tip 2.0 mil. Not
impressed.)
