The bio of Ahmet Ertegun, The Last Sultan, discusses these and says
that the sales were not good, and even thought they had planned on
beating the market to doing a full series of Shakespeare, they didn't go
any further. They had thought that every university library would buy
it.

Romeo and Juliet is the only one listed in Schwann, July 1951. 2 12"
lps, not
covered by the price list in the back so this may have been Atlantic's
first
12" issue. I guess Webster and Eva LeGallienne were still on speaking
terms if
no longer an item.
