[78-L] Of radio, restaurants and royalties

We’ve all heard stories about some store or restaurant that was slapped with a fine from somebody because they were playing music from a radio and so-and-so wanted to collect public performance royalties.  I don’t know how successful those efforts have been one way or the other but I heard a new twist on that today at lunch when we heard oldies in the local eatery.  From the start-and-stop sound and the few ads we heard it was obvious they had opened Pandora’s box and were piping that throughout the building.  Has anybody gone after them or one of their endusers for royalties?
