Thank you. Just as I suspected, there's an overlap of interests for record
and comic fans.

And the comics mentioned are all classics. We're a tasteful lot. Remarkable
the consistency of quality. The Disney delights echo my own. There were
Donald fans and Mickey fans, kind of like choosing between Roy and Gene at
the movies. The overlap, the understanding Nancy, and Lulu, and others
offered something unique and subtle seems part of record collecting
too. Me, well I still have a complete run of the MAD comics--not the later
magazines.

Oh, and sixty years later, I want to brag, but be unable to prove it. With
MAD, and other EC comics, fan letters were printed. I sent several, unable
to get printed. Then, when the last issue of PANIC arrived (#12), there
were two of my letters on the fan page. One under my name, and the second
under the pseudonym, "Grinning D." Such a wow for me, but there was
disappointment, too. The Grinning D letter was funnier, or funny. The one
under my name, nothing much.

And not all of my friends believed me. PANIC was EC's own ripoff of it's
MAD.

Dennis
