Tony Russell says differently. ("Country Music Records - A Discography 1921 -1942")
p.108:
ROY BLEDSOE
Roy Bledsoe, v. acc. unknown
Atlanta, GA Friday, March 22, 1929
402411- My Buddy OK unissued
402412- Memories OK unissued
Matrices 402409/402410, blank in Okeh files, butb known from test-pressings, may be associated
with this artist. There may also be a connection with John Dilleshaw, who recorded on matrices
402405 to 402408, but the lerad singer on 402409, and only singer on 402 410, is certainly not
John Dilleshaw, and may be Bledsoe. For details of 402409/402410 see Unknown Artists (IV)
p.920:
UNKNOWN ARTISTS (IV)
Male v duet: or v-1; acc. two unknowns, g.
Atlanta, GA Friday, March 22, 1929
402409- (The Story Of Adam: Show Me The Way To Go Home) OK unissued
402410- (In The Jailhouse Now) -1 OK unissued
These matrices are blank in the OK files. The lead or solo singer may be Roy Bledsoe, who
recorded matrices 402411/12, also unissued. The may also be a connection with John Dilleshaw,
who recorded on matrices 402405 to 402408, and may be one of the guitarists, though he is
probably not the second vocalist on matrix 402409. The titles are conjectural.
Strangely, there is a "River Shannon" song and a jailhouse song about "Bad Lee Brown" here
listed under John Dilleshaw:
p. 316:
JOHN DILLESHAW
John Dilleshaw & The String Marvel: prob. Pink Lindsey, f-1/md-2/g; John Dilleshaw, g/v-4
Atlanta, GA Friday, March 22, 1929
402405-A (Where The River Shannong Flows) - 1,4 OK unissued, Doc DOCD-8002 (CD)
402406-B (Bad Lee Brown) -1,4 OK unissued, Doc DOCD-8002 (CD)
.
.
.
Matrices 402405/06 are uncredited and untitled in OKeh files; the titles given here are hypothetical,
and the takes derived from test pressings.
=============
Question:
do you have "River Shannon/Bad Lee Brown" by John Dilleshaw (which would be 402405/06) or do
you actually have 402409/10 which is "Story Of Adam / Jailhouse" (402409/10) ?
