23265 and 23266 are both listed under “The Week’s Records” in the Billboard issue 
of 31 Oct. 1942—in other words, issued between 21 and 27 Oct. (the magazine’s 
dates, not mine). Can't find anything on the Ogden Nash set (23267-69) or the contents
of 70-74 and 78-80, though.
 
I would certainly think that the Django discs received attention in Down Beat when
they were first released--that could be another clue as to when the 23000s began.
