[78-L] removing 45 adapters

That $7 price is unusual. Most of them go for $1.

If you did this with a Webster Chicago adapter there often would be
damage. The adapters you discuss are uniform all around it in how it
holds the record. That is not true of the W-C. The pressure MUST be
put off to one side of the adapter, NOT in the CENTER. If it does not
come out of the record at an angle it WILL break the record. Look at
the pictures I linked to and compare it with the ones you have. I think
you wrote the above without looking at the pictures.
By the way, here is a good illustration of 20 adapters. The one I most
often find in European 45s is the second from the right in the third
line down -- and they do come out very easily.
