[78-L] Dating American Columbias

I've had very good luck with Eddie Shaw's DATES (Date About all Those English Seventy-eights) book for dating English Columbia records.

Do any of you know of a similar book for dating American Columbia 78s? 78discography.com, while very good, misses entire series of recordings.

If you haven't read DATES, it simply lists catalog numbers (and prefixes) and gives a list of years the series was published, and which number ranges correspond to which year.

Any help you all can offer in book recommendations or American prefix and suffix meanings would be much appreciated.
