Ahem - I just coincidentally happen to have a WOR promo disc from the film
ATLANTIC CITY up on eBaye right now - from 1944, nice 12-inch vinyl
pressing. Not pushing it here to sell, but for the label photo - :

Thanks for the information!  The record is quite noisy.  Being from 1944, I
wonder if it might have been made from an inferior shellac because of
rationing?

I was digigng around my collection and found some 1950s WOR Radio Spot
Announcements on LPs for movies - TARZAN THE APE MAN
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLdVUltQfwA  and HOUSE OF THE SEVEN HAWKS
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=io6VCwlOhcU

Now I'll start digging through the 78L archives to find the previous WOR
discussions.

Thanks!  CDB

Trio with Sylvia Barry vocals, being recorded at WOR Recording Studios in
New York c.1944. WOR was and is a radio station in New York and apparently
recorded songs in their studio and made their own records. There's a lot of
info about the radio station, but there doesn't seem to be much info about
these records. Any way to find out how many were released on the WOR label?
Whether any of their recordings were released on major record labels? Time
frame for their label?
