It's a nonsense phrase that doesn't mean anything. The word "tres" means
very in French, while the word
"zut" means something close to heck or dang.
My take is they were just looking for a word that was French that rhymed
with cute and zut was the
first word that came up. Oh well, it's better than having used the word
pute which means something
else entirely.

Subject: [78-L] FRENCH QUESTION
In the Bing Crosby/Judy Garland recording of CONNECTICUT Bing interjects
the phrase “très zut”. Can anyone tell me what exactly is the meaning? I
believe it dates from around 1945. Here it is in context......
Italy.... was fun to see,
And really gave me quite a boot!
Had a spree in gay Paree,
Those mademoiselles were mighty cute, très zut!
The song can be heard on YouTube.
